Carnelian Stone Necklace

I was referred to sister Zakiyyah by a friend who previously purchased crystal necklaces for himself. I had spent much of my personal time reading about crystals and their healing qualities, and was interested in obtaining some of my own.

Meeting Zakiyyah was a memorable and warm occasion. At the time I was not certain about the design of my necklace, however, Zakiyyah did a great job of showing me all the options available to me. When I decided on the design I wanted, she presented me with three choices (shown here) so I could select which one vibed with me the most.  

She also provided additional explanations of the qualities of the various stones which supplemented my own research. I settled on selecting a very conservative carnelian stone necklace (the top one to the left). Since purchasing it, I've received nothing but compliments whenever I wear it.

My Chakra Necklace

Sister Zakiyyah does beautiful work. I cannot praise her craftsmanship enough. 

 After she made the carnelian necklace for me, I spent much time reviewing her website and looking at other pieces she's designed for previous clients. I knew that I wanted a Chakra necklace and saw a piece on the site which I wanted modified to my own liking. Zakiyyah delivered a finished product which surpassed my expectations.

There is a lot of power in the Chakra necklace she crafted for me. The seven gemstones will provide healing forces to my seven energy centers, and help me ascend to the higher level of spiritual consciousness I desire. The Khepera which represents life and rebirth is testimony of my personal rebirth into African-centered thought. The Eye of Heru which symbolizes protection, the bringing of wisdom and our ability to see with clarity and truthfulness, symbolizes one of the many goals I hope to achieve in life. With so much symbolism imbedded in this necklace, it means a great deal to me. I am once again tremendously grateful to Sister Zakiyyah for the work she has done and I wish her continued happiness and prosperity in all her endeavors.

 One thing Zakkiyah said that stayed with me in our first meeting is that, when you know what your adornments stands for, you never want to take it off. She was right, for I wear my necklace all the time and never want to remove it. I would like to thank Sister Zakiyyah for the beautiful work she's done and for the knowledge she shares with me in all of our meetings. I would highly recommend her work to anyone who desires to have custom jewelry made for him or herself at a reasonable cost.

My Crystal Jewelry 

When I first got my crystal jewelry, I felt so amazed.     

My earrings and necklace were so pretty and wonderful to me. 

When my sisters were finished putting on my jewelry, I felt like crying, 

But they weren't tears of depression, they were tears of joy.   

After that, I smiled at my brother and dad. 

The jewelry contacts with my energy,

  so when I cry, I cry tears of joy!!!

  I came to see Zakiyyah on the anniversary of my father's death, shortly after my mother's diagnosis of dementia and leaving a very dark relationship. I was beginning to sink into self-pity and knew I needed to find my resilience again and remember my strength.

I didn't really know what I wanted when I first came to see Zakiyyah, but was drawn to her by an ad I saw of her shop near my home. As soon as I met her, I knew I came to the right place. She immediately welcomed me warmly and I immediately felt comfortable enough to break down, cry and tell her my story. She is a warm soul and was extremely open and gracious to me. We began to discuss healing stones and ideas for a necklace. 

A week later I came back and she had shown me a few incredible necklaces she had made with me in mind. They were all gorgeous, but only one sent shivers through my body when I picked it up. I have worn it religiously since and LOVE it. With the holidays coming up, I knew Zakiyyah would be the right person to help design three more necklaces for 3 other important women in my life.  "A day in February 2009 I traveled up to the beautiful Black Sacred Gold Kultural Center where I always peruse Zakiyyah's display of spirit work in full form. At the time I was seeking a necklace that prominently featured black stones such as onyx, jet, obsidian, etc. As they naturally come with their base properties, I would further charge these stones with properties of dissolving unwanted energies from others, since I am a sacred tactile healer. The pieces that I were drawn to had the beautiful, flat, tear drop pendants (of varied stones) with different emblazoned images such as SANKOFA, and the SCARAB.  I commissioned my sister, Zakiyah to create a powerful amulet to wear close around my throat. Together we agreed on the image alone, of the palm clearly depicting its energy center. I trusted her insight in choosing the appropriate stones and its layout. In a less than two weeks time I was honored with the magnificent piece you see here on the website: A combination of the teardrop shaped onyx, centered with hardy malachite, the feminine-curved opening flower bud rose quartz and mountain chipped aventurine!  Suffice it to say, I was beyond pleased with the sacred blend of colors and gemstones, complete with the purposely loving hand pendant. Looking at the piece then I saw everyone being touched by the hand without absorbing negativity in return. today I still see my amulet as being able to give and loving receive the best from people when on duty near my heart chakra.
